Committee Charge

The Academic Computing Advisory Committee (ACAC) consists of faculty and staff from the Schools of Engineering and of Arts and Sciences, representatives from the Center for Educational Resources (CER) and from the Library, representatives from Information Technology @ Johns Hopkins (IT@JH, HITS), and representatives from the Registrar. The ACAC’s task is to improve IT delivery and resources on the Homewood Campus by identifying academic IT needs or problems, by facilitating their solution, by advising the Homewood Deans of such issues informally, and by formally reporting its activities and advice annually to the Deans. The ACAC should set up a website where its current issues can be known by the Homewood community at large, and where members of the community can raise new issues and communicate opinions for the ACAC to consider. If feasible, the ACAC should communicate in a person-to-person way with each academic department annually. To advise the Deans about major service acquisitions by IT@JH, the ACAC is assigned advisory participation in the evaluation of proposed major acquisitions.
