The Hopkins Organization for Programming is a university wide
programming council dedicated to bringing quality entertainment to the
Johns Hopkins campus throughout the year. Our Programming Board is broken down into several sub-committees:
- Concerts
- Comedy
- Social
- Special Events
- Friday Nights
- Marketing
- Co-Sponsorship
Committee Chair: Chris Mayhew Members: What we do: We like music. We like music a lot. So we like to bring different bands and artists to Hopkins. Want an open mic night? Talk to us...
Committee Chair: Pasha Hadidi Members: What we do: We get stand-up comedians and other comedy groups to come to campus and
do shows. This has included people like Bob Saget and the singing
comedian Stephen Lynch. We also get smaller acts from the NYC area and
other areas for some smaller shows throughout the year.
Committee Chair: Jen Beddor Members: What we do: We plan social events to encourage
a fun, lively attitude on campus. We put on things like dances, tournaments, and casino
nights. We also
plan sport & recreational events such as a campus wide capture the flag
event. Basically, planning a large
variety of parties is our primary goal.
We try to keep in contact with the Greek societies, RAB, and Student Council.
Committee Chair: Deepika Sagaram Members: What we do: We do everything else. From movie pre-screening, to lectures, to jump castles and laser tag. We explore the "other" sides of campus programming beyond concerts and comedidans.
Committee Chair: Ellen Berlinghof Members: Caitlin Leach What we do: We go to rooftops, city street corners and bell towers to shout "Come to our events!!!" So please, come to our events.
Committee Chair: Deeva Berera Members: What we do: The HOP by itself is a highly productive student
organization, but we are always looking to expand our capabilities.
Through co-sponsorship, our organization encourages other student groups to
seek our help in putting on events. These joint projects allow
us to combine our resources and interact with a wide variety of clubs.
